John Johnston/e b c1793 Cummertree

I have managed to trace one of my Johnston/e lines back to John Johnstone b about 1793 married to Margaret Johnstone. On their son Walters(my ggg grandfather) death certificate it states his parents were John Johnstone ( a mason) he died Lairthat 1859 and Margaret Johnstone.

On Johns death cert it states his parents were George Johnstone and Margaret ( unable to read maiden name, looks like it only have 3 or 4 letters in name)

The 1861 shown Margaret(Mason wea Pauper)b about 1786 living with her daughter Elizabeth McLeod(Johnstone) at lairthat cottages.

Margaret died 14 feb 1874 at her daughters in Hurkledale Cottages Cummertrees. On Margaret death certificate it states her maiden name as Nelson. Her father John Nelson (Carrier).

Does anyone have this family in their tree. Looking for info on John parents George and Margeret
Johnstone or Margaret Nelson's parents .

There is or was in the 1960s a memorial at Dalton which read:

George Johnston who died at Kelhead 9th August 1812 age 53 years also
Mary Rae his spouse who died at Thornes 6th June 1840 age 80 years also
John Johnston his son who died at Larthat 8th November 1859 aged 67
years also Margaret Nelson his wife who died at Hurkledale Cottage 14th
February 1874 aged 89 years.

The surrounding posts on this link, as you will see had John, son of George and Mary (Rae) heading off to Canada and marrying someone else...Thank goodness for all the other info!
