Hi Firthview

There is a possible 1871 census entry for Mary by herself:

Mary Moris (as transcribed on the index I am looking at), 64, Washer Woman b. Bathgate in Lone, Torphichen.

There is a death showing in 1869 in Torphichen which looks likely for John Morris.

Hi Monical   thank you for your help,i think this is Mary in Torphichen but the Johns death said he was married to Mary nimmo and he died aged 69 in 1869,i know there was some mistakes then but i dont think this is him   kindest regards  Firthview.

That a pity  :-\ Have you just double checked on address showing on his death cert against what shows for Mary in 1871 and also his occupation? Mistakes can creep in everywhere.

A couple of checks you could make: marital status of Mary in 1871 census. Also marriage certs for their children to see whether parents show as alive or deceased at the time of their marriages.
