RMS Leinster - lost passengers list? Completed - with thanks.
« on: Wednesday 26 October 11 22:31 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am very inexperienced in this room, and hope some  kind soul may be able to help!

I had a great Uncle who I believe was drowned when this boat - the RMS Leinster was torpedoed and sank. His death is dated 10.10.1918

His body was washed up a month later on the Isle of Man.
I wonder if anyone can tell me where to go to try to find a list of the people on board at the time of the disaster.

Many thanks,
Copperbeech5

This is just a wild guess, but there is a Maritime Museum in Dun Laoghaire (from which port I think the Leinster may have departed on its last journey) which has all sorts of interesting stuff in it.    You might try them if all else fails.       If you just Google it I'm sure you'll find a contact address or number.

Hi Ady,

Gosh thank you for all your work tonight!

I have looked on the rmsleimster.com site, it is very informative, but doesn't have the info I am after - sadly.

My man was a soldier Herbert William Hutchinson who was going to war or who was returning home, so sadly doesn't feature in your other list either.

Your help is much appreciated.

Best wishes,
Copperbeech5
