my great great grandfather was called griffith edwards born approx 1827 to parents catharine and ellis edwards . he was baptized in dogelleu on 12/7/1828 i have traced his father ellis to a workhouse called lambeth ? it says he is 74 and is an inmate then says blacksmith bala could this be the same ellis who is griffiths dad  And if it is where is lambeth workhouse ?

Is your info on Ellis from the 1881 census?
 Ellis Edwards aged 73, blacksmith born Corwen,Merionethshire residing in Lambeth Workhouse, Surrey.

In 1841 there are two families

Ellis , Catherine Edwards and children (but no Griffith, perhaps somewhere else for the cencus0
Peny Bryn, Dolgelley. Ellis' occupation schoolmaster  born c 1801
Ho107/1432  7/12  5

and

Ellis Edwards wife Anne and family living in Corwen
Ho107/1428  4/17  2
Ellis' occupation  Smith, born c 1806.


It is confusing however, Edwards being a common name. But I would think the Ellis in Lambeth may not be Griffiths father.
