« on: Sunday 08 May 05 13:40 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone

I or to be more precise my husband has family that originate in Dorset and we would love to hear from anyone who has a coonection with the following names

CHERRETT - CORFE MULLEN AND LYTCHETT AREAS
ORCHARD - LYTCHETT AREAS
SANSOM - ALSO LYCHETT

I am also keen to find someone who can help me with pre census research for this area and names as I am not able to travel out there

Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi Teresa,

I noticed there was another RootsChatter in the Surname Interest Table for CHERRETT and one for SANSOM. Have you tried PMing them ?

Have you looked throught the Dorset OPC site yet / already ?
www.dorset-opc.com

There are 26 entries for CHERRETT, 313 for ORCHARD (this includes all cherry, apple and horticultural orchards aswell  ;D ) and 217 entries for SANSOM.

Some of them are bound to be yours (sorry, your husband's). Try putting in combinations (cherret sansom) and "Find ALL words"

and try the Lychett page:
http://www.dorset-opc.com/LytchettMatravers.htm

Good luck,
Bob

Thank you so much Bob

Dorset is a new area for me so the advice is greatly appreciated - my searches were pretty fruitless on here too so maybe I was doing something wrong I shall try again

thanks again
Teresa
