My memories as a child at Node House are good. I can remember an old car we played in.

I have memories of being a child at Nore House, of there being an annual event in which children camped out in the grounds I think they would have been cubs and scouts.

Also of every Easter a big Easter egg being dropped of a balcony after which we would all dive in to get the pieces of chocolate.

My brother came from Nore House in Portishead, and is in contact with people who worked there after he had come to live with my family, and with people who are still in touch with children who were there.  It was entirely separate from the Nautical School.  He too would be interested to share information.

Hello TeaAtMine,

You seem to be clicking on the "quote" button instead of the reply button, you will find the blue reply button just below the last reply on the topic ;)

JennyJohnson- Matron England was my grandmother. I wonder if Mr. Llewellyn that your mother remembers is actually Mr. Lewington, my grandfather, who we think was a regional manager.  We were looking for information about the home as my aunt Sally was adopted from there, by matron England's family, in around 1950

My father has found a photo album from nore house from the early fifties. I'm sure we could arrange to share some of the photos if they are useful to anyone
