Fantastic work for which many thanks.

The elder Elizabeth at Penhernwenfawr in 1841 must be the same as the widowed Elizabeth of 1851 and, as you say, must be Samuel's mother. In 1841 she was running the farm whilst her son Samuel must have been the head of the family you found at Garthfach, Llechweddor.

I'm guessing, but could the Anne CHARLS of 1841 be the "daughter Anne, wife of......" mentioned in the will?

I don't know about William DAVIES and family at Fosfigin in 1841, but my great-great-grandfather, Thomas DAVIES (DANIELS) is recorded as living at Ffosyfigis in 1851, having moved there from his 1841 home of Gelli, Penbuallt.

Joshua DAVIES of Penporth could be a relative - if so, probably the son of the Joshua mentioned in the will.

Anyway, much on which to ponder, and many additions to my tree for which, again, many thanks.

hadn't thought of that possibility for Ann. I'd wondered if she was Elizabeth's mother?
