I have to admit ive just realised ive made a horrible mistake, Kate Horan's father's name was Matthew Horan instead of Michael, i have no idea where i got Michael from but i hope somebody could help me out with trying to find out more info about this woman.

Many Apologies, Philip

With the 'new' name for her father suggest you re-check possibilites in 1911 census but as before this will not be easy.

Yep thanks i did a very thorough search, there is 2 families that could possibly relate to her but ive no idea what her Father's occupation is to distinguish any possible ties. She's a hard one to find any info on unfortunately.

Thanks, Philip

I am looking for a Matthew Horan who was born in Ireland app 1886 who was on the 1901 register in Manchester England, and had a daughter Catherine Horan (1906–1935) and Maria Horan (1907–), this is my Husbands great Grandfather and Catherine is his Grandmother but I cannot get any further information, so I would be grateful if you can provide anything that will help...

Matthew Horan's marriage certificate should list father's name and occupation (it may be that they also moved to the same area) and then you might be able to get them in census (1901, 1911 in Ireland or English census records). The 1911 English census tends to be more likely to list a place of birth in Ireland- we can't do lookups for it but you can search yourself (www.familysearch.org is free and will give extract which should, hopefully, show a place in Ireland).

Once you get a location you can check church records (if the family were Catholic)-

Also . . .

Can you clarify . . .

You say Matthew was on the '1901' census in Manchester, two daughters.

Do you mean the 1911 Census ?
