Cashin of Patrick
« on: Sunday 13 November 11 17:50 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Would anyone have a complete copy of Maryellen Robinson Hinrich's book - all 371 pages I believe?  I have some of it, but would like to have a complete copy.  I was wondering if it was available anywhere electronically yet?
Thanks in advance.

according to google Maryellen Robison Hinrichs (born 1921) - book pub 1975 in Douglas Wyoming - there is an ebook but restricted it seems - original from University of Wisconsin
The Cashins were I think quite late in moving to Patrick - a couple of burials c. 1760 1st bapt c.1774 - few wills (all 18th C summarised on www.manxnotebook.com) so I wonder just what info she has -
any thing with a Manx Connection

It covers the period 1800 to 1974.

My family link is from "Cashin of Patrick" - one of his sons - William, married Jane Kelly of Balladda in 1811. This chaper I don't have.

I know that at least two of my Dad's cousins have a copy, but they are pretty fragile. A lot of the information is incorrect, and my grandfather refused to buy a copy, as he was outraged by his description in the book, and by not being consulted.

I have also been trying to obtain a complete copy, as I have only my handwritten notes from when I was staying with the aforementioned relatives.

We are descended from John Cashin (1801-1882) and Mary Coffee (1802-1865).

Hello,

The (incomplete) copy I scrounged from a fellow online Genealogist some years ago, had a scribble or two in, which did seem to indicate something was amiss with the data.   Anyway thanks for all the comments.

Cashin of Tarwin Lower.
In this material is there is any mention of the James Cashin born 1812/13 Rushen who married Anne TEARE 1838 in Andreas?

Cheers

Hi Jack

No, James Cashin and Ann Teare aren't directly related to Hinrich's 'Cashin of Patrick', as far as I can ascertain. The earliest dates she has are the birth dates of Cashin of Patrick's children, starting with John in 1801.

I have more info on James and Ann, if you want to PM me.

Hi

My name is Tammy, I am from the States.
I am related to the Cashen's. Bessie Cashen McMaster was my grandmother, her son Norman Houghton is my father. He died when I was 3 years old. Kenneth Darrel, the youngest of the 5 children is the only one living. I just returned home from a visit with him in Nashville Tennessee.
He does not have any family history.  I too would like to have a copy of the Cashin of Patrick.
Minneapolis, Minnesota has the book, but will not let me borrow it. I would like to have a copy if all possible for my children, and grandchildren. I have started a family tree, but am very interested in any, and all living relatives that I have out there in Northern Ireland, and Isle of Man to be part of my life. With my Father, and Grandmother Bessie gone, Kenneth is all I have on my Dads side of family that I am aware of. Would love to hear from relatives, and hear all the stories.
