Ok, now that you have moved over  ::)....have you checked the 1911 census for George Jnr and Snr?

Monica

Added: There is only one George Roberts*, aged 29, showing on the 1911 census in Queensferry. Could your George Jnr have been born there after the census that year? There is a birth entry showing on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for a George Roberts* in Queensferry in 1911.

Neither has anyone else  :-\ Unlike England/Wales and Ireland, the Scottish 1911 census is only available on the pay to view site www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

There looks to be only one George Roberts(on) living in Queensferry for the 1901 census - all look to have been born in Queensferry:

Thomas Roberts 43, shale miner
Catrine Roberts 42
George Roberts 19, shale miner
Thomas Roberts 14
John Roberts 11
Janet Roberts 9
Mary Roberts 7
James Roberts 6
Elizabeth Roberts 4
Catrine Roberts 2
Roberts 5 Hours...not a good time for the enumerator to call by!

Address: West Terrace, Queensferry

There is also this family in 1901:

John Robertson 72, coal merchant, Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire
John Robertson 39, son Assistant Coal Merchant
Elizabeth Robertson 28
John Robertson 3
Robert Robertson 1

Address: Bank Buildings, Queensferry

From the info you have mentioned, this might also be worth looking at...
