Last online in 2010.

he had an excellent site about Holmfirth during the great war which is now off air because the subscription appears not to have been paid

I was just wondering because he has/had excellent material which is a shame to lose

Hello - mmm45
I have been trying to find - Tony Lund's ' Contact Details '
He was mentioned in an Article in the Huddersfield Examiner ' Newspaper in 2008
I contacted the Newspaper  - mentioned that my 2X Great Uncle, James McKenzie - born 1884 Leeds - took part in the Anglo - Boer War in Sept 1901 - then as a Reservist with British Army Service Corps 1914 to 1918
That James McKenzie is mentioned in a 'Post ' - ASC Remounts / One Man's Experience ' on the website - A Long Long Trail ' - Historian, Chris Baker of ,c fourteen eighteen ' website
And that James is mentioned on end of Page 11 in book
Gallipoli's War Horses - From Dardanelles To Damascus - by Australian Author, Jill Mather -
James's very younger brother, Thomas McKenzie married my 2X Great Aunt, Alice Maud Bell - daughter of my 3X Grandfather, Arthur Bell - her brother, Richard Bell is my Great Grandfather
Richard Bell - Walter Snr - Walter Jnr - Me ( Julie Cogan Bell
You said to another Member - you sent an Email to Tony Lund

Hi Paula,

Welcome to Rootschat

Unless Rootschat rules have changed ? a new member has to make 3 posts replies on any thread before they can send a personal message to another member.

You have 2 posts already - so make another post on this thread and you'll have 3 qualifying posts.

Then you'll be able to sent Tony Lund a personal message. (whether or not he answers your PM with a reply - is another question though  ???  as he's only posted 48 times in 13 years, so Tony may not have had a PM before and may not understand what a Rootschat PM notification is in his email inbox or think its a spam/scam junk mail)

Here is the link to Tony Lund profile page (In the left menu - click send PM)

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

I never got a response.

Most of the articles will no doubt be held at Huddersfield library/Archives
