To finish previous incomplete message.
My query now is was this Peter the father of Stephen Flynn or
was it a son of his, another Peter from a previous marriage.Peter in the census would have been 48 yrs.old in 1890 when Stephen Flynn was born while mother Mary was 21yrs.old.A huge age gap.
I am still looking for info.on Mary McPadden Flynns date of death.
Many thanks

The reason you don't see Maura's email or phone number is that we aren't allowed to post personal detail- it's explained in the Help pages (button at top of page) under Posting Guidelines. To remove your email just click on modify onthat post, remove it and then click save. Once you have 3 posts you can send or receive PMs (Personal Messages) to exchange such information.

McPaddens of Derrintawy & their Grandson Stephen Flynn
« Reply #14 on: Wednesday 07 March 18 15:35 GMT (UK) »
Maura,
I am not sure how old your post is but I am familiar with your family members.
I have spent 12 months tracking Mary (McPadden) Flynn & believe I have connected the dots.
Their were actually 2 marriages between the Flynn's & McPaddens. Namely, Hugh Flynn of Alteen & Mary McPadden of Derrintawy,  also  Mary Flynn of Alteen & Hugh McPadden . A bit confusing but definite links.

If your interested, drop me a line & I'll share what I have.

Can you share how your related.
you can email me directly at Removed

Thanks
Steve Flynn

Hi Steve

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

Maura hasn't been online here since 2011 and according to her profile, her email address doesn't work anymore.

That comment would have been put there as a result of a previous email bouncing back.

Unless she returns to the forum of her own volition, there's not much we can do at this time to get you in contact with each other.

Hi Steve,
Would certainly be very interested to hear from you.Can compare notes.
This has remained a mystery to me for sometime.
Anyone who might have known was dead by then.

My account was hacked some years ago with considerable difficult consequences so scared me off for a while.
Regards : Maura

Hi Steve,
I am finally back had some updating to do.
This is my relationship to Mary McPadden, she was born in 1869 to Hugh McPadden & Ellen Cassidy.
They are my great grandparents ,their son Stephen +Mary McGovern are my grandparents, while my parents were  Hugh McPadden + Margaret Morgan. So my father & Mary were 1st cousins.
Derrintawy (Derrintovey)is in Co.Leitrim, all the above lived in Ireland,so there are quite a few cousins down the generations. However in Marys family there were only 2 siblings who had children,Stephen ,my grandfather + Michael who as the eldest son inherited the homestead in Derrintovey. Two of the family died young & whatever happened Mary.
Look forward to sharing info.with you.
