Hi Charlie,

We diverge immediately after George and Hannah so it means we a very distant cousins I suspect. Mine goes:

George Fletcher 1750 - 1820 and Hannah Howells 1741 - 1820
John Fletcher 1776 - 1852 and Martha Edwards 1780 - 1854
Joseph Fletcher 1820 - 1907 and Elizabeth Davies 1823 - 1900
Susannah Fletcher 1854 - 1916 and Samuel Crosby 1845 - 1913
Louisa May Crosby 1886 - 1968 and William Clucas 1887 - 1971

Louisa and William CLUCAS were my grandparents.

So I lost the Fletcher surname some generations back, if you want more detail let me know

Cheers

Hi Snooper, thanks for the info, I was missing Susannah onwards, she seems to have 10 siblings.

Yes, Susannah was one of 12 so there are loads of Fletcher cousins out there from this part of the world,

Hi  welshwanderer
Just joined Roots chat and came across one of your posts from a few years ago and Currently doing the same research of Fletchers in Hereford.
My Great Grandfather John Fletcher 1852 ~ 1922 was born in Leominster Hereford.

The info below is what I believe is correct however would appreciate if you could share your research to confirm this information as I would like to also obtain some certificates of BMDs and firming up dates would help

If you have a family tree, or a Hard copy or a Gedcom file any would be appreciate

7th great-grandfather
Edward Fletcher (1671 - )
son of Thomas Fletcher
WILLIAM FLETCHER (1726 - )
son of Edward Fletcher
Thomas Fletcher (1751 - 1814)
son of WILLIAM FLETCHER
John Fletcher (1792 - )
son of Thomas Fletcher
Edwin Fletcher (1826 - 1881)

Don't know if I am too late for this post but here goes hope we can mutually help each other. Eliza Fletcher is my GGG Grandmother born in Leominster.

George and Eliza's daughter Charlotte Fuller married John Timms

JOHN TIMMS Gland Packer/Railway Engine Driver
Born  1835 London
Died 03.1901 aged 66 Salford
Married 06.1857 Hereford
CHARLOTTE FULLER
Born 1835 Herefordshire
Died 12.1913 aged 79 Salford
Her parents were

GEORGE FULLER
Born 22.05.1814 New Radnor
Died 09.1869 Hereford aged 51
Married 24.06.1838 St Peter's Herefordshire
ELIZA FLETCHER (Nurse and Midwife)
Born 26.10.1814 Leominster
Died March quarter 1887 age 60

This is were I get a bit stuck I thought this was the correct step with William Fletcher but although they had an Elizabeth they don't appear to have a Thomas Fletcher.  On the 1841 census Eliza is married to George Fuller, they have two children Charlotte and James and a Thomas Fletcher aged 20 living with them. Unfortunately the 1841 census doesn't tell what relation they are.  The only Thomas 12.06.1819 Dilwyn parents George and Ann Fletcher nee Watkin.

WILLIAM FLETCHER
Born 05.04.1782 Leominster
Died 16.05.1834 Leominster
Married 25.09.1804 Cradley Hereford
ANN TURNER
Born 21.06.1785 Cradley Hereford
Died

GEORGE FLETCHER
Born 28.08.1779 St Martin's ?
Died
Married 30.06.1814 Dilwyn
ANN WATKINS
Born
Died

Can't even match these 2 as brother as William's parents I think are Thomas Fletcher and Rebecca Preece marriage 08.06.1776 at Leominster (6 children)Thomas 26.07.1776,  first William 1870 died, William 07.01.1782, Francis 13.10.1784, James 19.04.1787, John 05.02.1792.

George's parents were John Fletcher and Elizabeth.

I found 1851 census for Ann Fletcher living in South Street aged 65 (1786) born Leominster and she's a Mason's widow.  She has her youngest son Henry aged 22 living with her.

On the 1861 census she as only aged 5 years and is 70 (1791) still living in South Street and Henry her son is still living with her he is now 36 but he now as a wife Elizabeth. Born in Leominster.

Thomas Fletcher (1820) on the 1871 census is a Mason living at St John, Herefordshire.  The reason I thought this was the correct Thomas was Eliza's son William Fuller (1857) worked as a stone cutter?

Unfortunately I can't find a census for either William or George Fletcher.

These are the children I have for both couples

William and Ann nee Turner

William Fletcher 25.09.1805 Leominster
Phoebe Fletcher 26.04.1807 Leominster
Elizabeth Fletcher 26.10.1814 Leominster

George and Ann nee Watkins

Thomas Fletcher 12.06.1819 Dilwyn
Richard Fletcher 11.05.1821 Dilwyn
Charles Fletcher 10.08.1823 Dilwyn
Henry Fletcher 01.01.1825 Dilwyn
Charlotte Fletcher 20.08.1826 Dilwyn
Joseph Fletcher 21.07.1829 Dilwyn

Totally confused now don't know which branch to take.

Hope this post isn't as confusing as I feel. Hope some kind person can unravel me and put me on the right branch.

Eileen ???
