Grave stone photo in Bellie if possible
« on: Sunday 27 November 11 16:39 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace grave stones for the Hardie family in Bellie.  According to Libindx James Hardie and his second wife Elizabeth are both buried there but a previous message on this site indicated there was no stone.  After looking through all the Hardies on Libindx I have come across two definites.

They are daughters of the above.   Elizabeth Jenkins stone Be579 and Elsie Sim or Sime stone Be409.

Can anybody give me the readings of the stones or be kind enough to take photos of the stones.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I have purchased several MI books but unfortunately Bellie is not one of them

Betty

Hi Betty,

I realise that you posted this a while ago so I'm not sure if you are still on this site, however I came across your post when I was doing some research into my family tree and John J Hardie is a relative of mine and I just wondered if you were related to the Hardie family?

Many thanks

Hi Betty

You can request a photograph and/or a transcription of Elspeth & John Sime headstone from https://sites.google.com/site/highlandmemorialinscriptions/home/moray - hope this will be of help.

Good Hunting

Hi
Thanks for getting in touch.  My husband is related in a distant way to James Hardie c1844.  His first wife was Jessie Williamson married 1872. She was a sister of my husband's gr.gr.granny. His second wife was Elizabeth Stuart.  There were at least seven children to his first wife and at least three to his second.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Betty

Hi Betty,

Thank you for your quick reply.

John James Hardie Jenkins who passed on 10th Jan 1992 was my grandfather on my maternal side.

I think I may be getting a bit confused, is  James Hardie also John Jenkins?

I have only just started out on researching my family tree so am still trying to gather information at the moment.

Many thanks

Hi
On my records I have a John Jenkins having married a Kathy (no surname). He died 10.1.1992.
His parents were Elizabeth Stuart Hardie and John Jenkins.  Elizabeth's parents were Elizabeth Stuart and James Hardie. It is this James Hardie whose first wife was Jessie Williamson the link to my husband.
