Thanks, mjbecker, for telling us of Elizabeth's death.  Do you happen to have a more precise date?  She was my mother's 2nd cousin.

I'm afraid I'm not in touch with David or his brothers (two of whom stayed on in Australia when their parents returned to the UK circa 1983).

Anna Elizabeth is alive and well and celebrated her 88th birthday just a few weeks ago. I obtained that information from Kilravock Castle just five minutes ago.

Thank you, Imber.

Age is right, and if "a few weeks" means a fortnight then birthday too.
Perhaps mjbecker will now tell us the source for the news of her death.

Baroness Elizabeth Rose, 25th of Kilravock, passed away in December 2012.
Her maternal nephew, David Rose was confirmed by the Lord Lyon in June 2013, as The Chief of Clan Rose and the 26th Baron of Kilravock.

Chief David will be visiting California in October 11 - 13 at the Ventura Seaside Highland Games, and also Stone Mountain Highland Games in Georgia October 18 - 20th.

After the Battle of Culloden in 1746 it seems that a lot of the Scots lost their properties and positions and some emigrated to Jamaica, West Indies - Does anyone have information on the Roses who went to Jamaica?

Hi

I have a fascination for the Rose clan.. I've often wondered if I was part of the clan. My father left when I was very little and my mother would drop hints but never talk about my other family. My name is Elizabeth Ann Rose.

In1984 my biological father Christopher Leslie Rose wanted to meet me but I was pressured not to.

I still haven't met him to this day...

After all this time why was it so difficult to find the next direct successor to kilrarock Castle?
