SAWYER/HOLMES help
« on: Monday 28 November 11 13:59 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction.  I have an Edward Albert Holmes b1861 in Froxfield Wiltshire married to Mary E Sawyer Oct/Nov/Dec 1912 Hungerford.  She is definitely listed as SAWYER but all the records I have found for her before this are for SAYER.  I now think I may have the wrong family for her, I think she is definitely a SAWYER not a SAYER.  How would I go forward with this, I keep getting nowhere.

Bes regards
louise

Hello

Yes this is the same Edward Albert, I found 3 marriages for him, 1883 Susan Humphries, 1884 Mary Maslin & 1912 Mary E Sawyer.  It's Mary Sawyer I'm having difficulties with.

Regards
Louise

hi i just double checked and it says after 1901

theres a tree on ancestry  shows a phyllis ireene holmes born feb 1915 lambourne berkshire died 1971 newbury, her parents were edward albert holmes and mary eliza sawyer,

do you think that because you have found records" sayer" that it was a  spelling mistake to sawyer,

There were 2 Robert Sayers/sawyers and it looks like I have linked to the wrong one.  My sister has just managed to dig out a copy of the marriage certificate now so I have to redo that whole connection ;D.  How easy it is to make 1 small error which changes the whole tree!
