Hi and welcome

Without more info it may be difficult to determine the right families

The 1901 census has 876 entries in Somerset for the surname Lock but only 11 for the surname Jowles

Can you give some names/birthyears/birthplaces etc but not for any people who are still alive

If you already have any census or BMD info on the families - can you tell us so we don't duplicate efforts

Carlin (Ireland & Liverpool) Doughty & Wright (Liverpool) Dick & Park (Scotland & Liverpool)

Dear amantay,  I have just been looking on RootsChat.Com And I noticed that you are relatives of the Joules family, I am too. Funny enough we have just come back from Weston, and we were trying to find out where Merrily and their family are buried. My Grandfathers brother  Ernest Wallis married Bettsy Joules . Perhaps you can get in touch with me as I have photographs and info., to share perahaps you can share with me too. Best wishes Pearl

Hello Pearl , yes my great grandmother was Phoebe Joules . I have family that still live around Weston now . The graves you are searching for are in St Mary's Church in Yatton which is close to Bristol . Merrily is buried along with many other Joules family there . The story goes that when Merrily died her husband Issac Joules was so grief stricken he spent many days and nights laying on the grave. I have been to see it myself the graves are located near the entrance to the church , they have a black wrought iron enclosure around them . If you would like to keep in contact to share storys and info i'd be more than happy to . My email address is * ... may be easier on there ... Best regards Amantay
