Well I'm glad I am not the only one with these problems, the transcription is terrible and I am finding it just soooooooo   frustrating.

Thankyou for advice,Nick.  No, I am not interested in the rest of the world- I just need the best site for England, especially pre 1837.

If your 'pre-1837' is in London, then Ancestry's LMA London records will certainly help.   These records have helped me with my family history much more than the 1911 census ever has  :)
RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.

Thankyou, Nick.  After rootschat (what an excellent site!), I looked at a similar site where,by coincidence the chat there was about findmypast - just as much criticism!
So it will be An. after all. My areas of research (so far!) are Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Huntingdonshire and N.E. Lincolnshire.

My family has just gone and I can get back to normal, interesting things!!

Best wishes for the New Year,
Pam
