Just been reading your thread. We have John Hickey born 1821 in Cork of the children we know of he had Mary b. 1850 and Patrick b.? They all at some point move to Merthyr in South Wales where Mary Hickey marries Cornelius Hallahan ( Allen later) also from Cork.

John Hickey b.1821 was married to Ellen?

Could they be related to any of your families?

hello! sorry I don't have any information about a branch emigrating to Wales but it wouldn't surprise me  :) if I come across anything I will post it on here. Good luck, they are a tricky family as they all have the same names!

Hello, I'm a descendant of Ellen Hickey (b. about 1805) from County Cork, near Murragh, we believe. We've researched her husband John Desmond's family, but have reached a roadblock with the Hickey connection. It sounds as if the Hickey referenced here by the original poster might be her nephew. Our Ellen immigrated to Ontario Canada in 1847, settling in Kingsbridge with her husband and several children.
