1851/1861 Census - Carriden - Please
« on: Wednesday 11 May 05 02:43 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I am trying to find a James McIntosh in the 1851/1861 census.  He was married to an Agnes McIntosh, they lived in Grangepans, Carriden and he was a sailor with the merchant Navy.  Any information would be most helpful.  He is proving very difficult to find, so I have no idea of his age and as far as I know he was born in Carriden, as was his wife.

Many thanks

Hello
On the 1851Carriden Index I have found the following

AGNES MCINTOSH aged 28 b. CARRIDEN
MARY MCINTOSH aged 3 b. CARRIDEN
THOMAS MCINTOSH aged 1 b. CARRIDEN    but no JAMES. As you say he was a sailor, he was probably at sea.

Hope this helps
