What uniform are they wearing?
« on: Wednesday 11 May 05 08:50 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone identify the uniform that these young men are wearing?
I have an ancestor who was in the Yorkshire Regiment in 1901. He is the only professional soldier that I know about in my family of that generation.
Or is it a WW1 uniform and therefore could be any of dozens in my family who served.

Grateful for any help,

PeterB

Hi Peter
Only help I can offer is that they look as if they're in a cavalry regiment. ;) Jan

Hi Peter B,

They look like Royal Horse Artillery to me.      Think about the fellows who do the 'musical rides' at military tatoos.

I can confirm as RHA. White lanyard & flaming bomb collar dogs are the key identifying marks
