In April 1765, Pue's Occurrences reported the death of Charles Cobbe, Protestant archbishop of Dublin, who departed this life at his Palace in Cavan Street, Dublin.
It is well known that the archbishop of Dublin's Palace was St. Sepulchre's on St. Kevan (spelling from Rocque's map of 1756) Street, Dublin.
So Cavan is an unintended corruption of Kevan as spoken with an Irish brogue!
The Street is now known as Kevin Street and the building is now a Police Station.
