St. James?

Got an image from the St. Davids, Ystalyfera parish register and within the margin is written St. James.

Does anyone know where this St. James is, and if it was a chapel of ease for Ystalyfera?

Swansea library Catalogue has a reference to the "Service Registers, St James Mission Church, Godre'rgraig (1914-48, 1956-75)".

Godre'rgraig is just down the road from Ystalafera.

Hmm..The only one I knew of in Godre'rgraig was Holy Trinity. Do you have a map location for St. James at all?

St James' Church (Church in Wales)

The Church of St James is a mission church at the village of Godre'rgraig.
The village of Godre'rgraig is about a mile and a half from Ystalyfera.
It was founded in 1914, first as a Parish Hall for Godre'rgraig, but  became a dual purpose church and hall in one.
Seating capacity of 120.

I know Godre'rgraig but dont remember a village hall even. Maybe it was demolished along with Holy Trinity.

I know it's more than 4years since this post, but, for info St James Church in Godrergraig was converted into a large dormer bungalow, now named "Camelot" and is situated in an elevated position on Graig Rd, opposite the entrance to Godrergraig Park. I purchased the church in 1978/79 and completed the conversion in 1980. I believe the church was unused for a number of years before then. I hope this info is helpful to you after all this time !
