My grandfather is descended from the Simon family originally from the Llanarthney area.  My ggggrandfather John Simon married Margaret Thomas in Llandeilo Fawr and they moved to Pembrokeshire.  I have these but I believe John had brothers who stayed in the Llanarthney area.  I believe another brother moved to the Talley area but I do not have any details on any of these .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If anyone knows any of the Simon family I would be delighted to hear from them.

I have a Simon from Llandeilofawr in my family tree. My gr grandfather Thomas Jones from Llandybie married Elizabeth Simon from the Torbay Inn in Ffairfach, They are buried in the church cemetery Llandeilofawr. Elizabeth's father was Henry Simon and his mother was Catherine Simon. I do not know her husband's name. Henry Simon is living in the Torbay in 1851 aged 34. I suppose we can guess he was born in 1817. When was your Simon relative born?

My ancestor was John Simon who was brother to Henry. Henry's father was I believe Harry Simon of Troedrhiwgoch, Llanarthney, he had 2 brothers David and Thomas, there may be more who I haven't found yet.

My ancestor, John was Henry's older brother (born 1806) and he married Margaret Thomas of Landeilo Fawr, they moved to Pembrokeshire where John bought a farm, near Stackpole, and had: Jane, Henry, Edwin (who died as a baby), another Edwin, Mark, Thomas, Walter (who was my gggrandfather) and Alfred.

If you would like to see the tree I have so far then let me know and perhaps we can swop info.

I have found a record - familysearch - of Henry's christening on July 14th 1816 at Llanarthney. It shows his father as Henry and his mother as Mary. I must say that I haven't done much research on the Simons. Henry, the brother, ran the Torbay Inn, Ffairfach, Llandeilo along with his wife, Elizabeth (he was actually described as a mason on the 1851 census) I do not have the 1861 census but by 1871 he seems to have been  born in Llangathen. There is also a Catherine Simon, born in Talyllychau in 1781. If you can help to sort this out I'd be grateful. I live about 45mins away from the area if I can be of any help in searching.
