I hope I am not hi-jacking this thread but I am looking for information on Elizabeth Coote b. 1796 likely in Radwinter. She had a brother William b 1790 Radwinter.

She married John Reynolds at Royston 26 May 1825 and died of Typhoid at Royston in 1841.

Can anyone help with details of her parents please?

Thanks in advance

Steve

According to the Radwinter History site available at www.radwinterhistory.org.uk/radwinter/radwinterlocalhistory  which has a transcription of the registers, an Elizabeth Coot was baptised in Radwinter 25 Jan.1795, the daughter of a Peter and Fanny. You say that she had a brother born in Radwinter 1790, there is a baptism 10 Jan. 1790 for a William son of James and Mary, however there was also a baptism 24 Feb.1793, of a William son of Peter and Fanny.

There is though a burial, 10 Jan.1790, for Elizabeth Coot d. of Peter and Fanny, no age given but probably the one baptised.

Eliminating Peter and Fanny as parents you are left with James and Mary, although there are several other possible Coot parents of child bearing age around at that time. There was a marriage James Coot and Mary Tiser, in Radwinter 28 Oct 1788.

Looks like John Reynolds in 1851, living with a married sister.

Piece: 1707 Folio: 426 Page Number: 15

Unfortunately no Coote family members with them to help with the puzzle.
Interesting that POB has differentiated the two halves of Royston, north of the old A505 in Cambs and south in Herts.

Banns read Royston 8th, 15th and 22nd May, John of parish of Royston and Elizabeth of parish of Roxton (county of Huntingdon) now Beds.

Perhaps her parents moved after having William in Radwinter.

1841 in Thersfield, Hertfordshire;
John Reynolds, 39, Ag Lab
Elizabeth Reynolds, 15
George Reynolds, 13
Hannah, 9
Zephaniah Reynolds, 6
Edward Reynolds, 3

All children plus Mary (who is with her aunt Hannah Cooke in George Lane, Royston in 1841) were baptised in Royston New Meeting house on 13 June 1837, Oddly the record gives mother's name as Mary

.

Actual record looks more like Tysor, Mary made her mark, as did James Coot. One witness Henery Tysor signed, second witness James Livermore made his mark. James Livermore may be connected to my OH's family.
The other William Coote s/o Peter and Fanny may be this one.
1841 census

Piece: 328 Book: 24 Folio:45 Page Number: 13
Later censuses have his birth abt 1785 Radwinter
He made a voluntary settlement declaration abt 1813, just after he married and had first child, John, but didn't name his father.

added
no, age seems wrong closer to age of William s/o William and Mary
