What is his father's name and occupation on the marriage cert?

Who were witnesses -sometimes they are family members

As well as Suz point about father's name on marriage cert., isn't it in 1841 census as the household he was in etc?

1841 census doesn't give relationships -but this looks like him in 1851
Stoke Heath Stoke on Tern Salop

Elizabeth Barnett Head widow 86 Maintained by son Eccleston Staffs
William Barnett son U ag lab Lee Bridge Salop
Mary Barnett daughter U 39 dressmaker Lee Bridge Salop
ANDREW BARNESS relative U 17 Sawyer Stoke Salop
HO107 1996 449 21

If there is no father's name on birth cert -maybe Andrew was illegit -and possibly mary his mother ???
Just guesswork

Suz, you are quite correct about 1841 census and relationships :-[

From 1851 it is possible that Mary is the mother.   The birth cert. should clear that up.

another possibility - have you noticed in 1841 there is a Robert and Hannah Barnet living next door but one - and Andrew is with the same "relatives"???

1841 Stoke Heath
Stoke on Tern Salop
Elizabeth Barnet 65 ind N
Mary 25 Y
William 25 ag lab Y
Andrew ( Y

next but 2

Robert Barnet 35 Sawyer Y (Andrew also became a Sawyer)
Hannah 25 Y
Edwin 2 Y
HHarriet 4mth Y
HO107 901 11 10 13

There will not be a birth cert - registration did not begin until Sept qtr 1837

It's the baptism we need to find - hopefully coralreef will provide us with the information from the marriage cert, too

Sorry I should have written his father was Andrew on marriage cert
I thought birthcerts started 1837 five years after his birth
