Thank u so much Wozzle...this has been a great help...just need to get my head round it all now lol. I wonder why William and Elizabeth tended to live appart??? I thought that was uncommon then???

1 last favour to ask...hope Im not being too cheeky. My William married Minnie Carter (born 1870 in Abergavenny to James and Ellen Carter). They married in 1888 in Abergavenny and had 5 children, including my nans nan, Edith Elizabeth Prosser who was born in 1892. I have found the family on the 1901 census and Ive found Edith on the 1911 one. Now my nan says that her nan told her that her mom (Minnie) died when she was about ten. I know William and Minnies last child was born in 1901....but for the life of me I cannot find Minnies death. (I havent sent for any death certificates or anything but I cant see it on BMD or anything. Any ideas Wozzle?

I know they were Catholics so do u think thats why I cant find her death???

Thank u so much 4 ll your work...I cant wait to view it all properly!!!

do you know for certain that it was 1870 in abergavenny that she was born
there is no birth regd in abergavenny for a minnie carter between 1868-1872
could minnie have been a nickname
there is only one birth in abergavenny in 1870 with the surname carter
that is a edith rachel carter
p.s. according to the 1871 census minnie was born c 1869
there are 3 female carter births in the period 1868-1870 as well as edith rachel carter
they are sarah carter jul/aug/sept/1869
charlotte carter jul/aug/sept/1869
mary ann carter oct/nov/dec 1868
edith rachel is with her parents on 1871 so it is not her
charlotte died in 1871 so it is not her
mary ann carter is with her parents in 1871 so it is not her
i cannot find sarah carter in 1871 nor can i find a death for her but i cannot find a death in abergavenny between 1902-1911 for a sarah prosser
in fact the only female prosser death in abergavenny between 1910-1911 is annie prosser who died in 1904 aged 33 so born 1871
