Hi ,
I have been trying to find Marys marriage to Mr. Connor and I found this

30 October 1916 Mary (daughter of Napoleon and Mary ( ms  Steel ) Gray married William McLean  on

at 264 High Street Linlithgow ( her home ) Napoleon was deceased by this time.

It also seems there was a Mary Ann Steel Gray born around the same time in Ayrshire --- sorry haven't any time to continue this
search work is calling .

Sometime soon I hope to go to Edinburgh ( GROS ) and if you have not found anything else on Mary and as  you live in Canada
I will try and find her death for you seeing I gave you wrong information to start with.

Apologies

Jessie

Hi Jessie

Could I check that the Mary Connor death that you gave was the wrong one and that 'our's' married a William Mclean?

Mary Steel Gray other name Connor mother ms Steel died 1992 aged 91 in  Kilbirnie /Beith and Dalry

If so, I don't see a death on a quick search. I don't see a re-marriage for her either or emigration :-\

Hi gnu ,
Thought I'd have a quick check before I go out.

Yes ours married a William McLean it was under Grey I have the marriage cert. as I have been researching Greys  in West/ Mid Lothian .

I haven't been able to find a death but perhaps you might be able to.
I will not be back on line for a wee while but as you will have seen I hope to go to GROS soon and as I have given you a " bum steer" I have offered to look for her Marys death then unless of course someone finds it.

Regards,

Jessie :)

The marriage cert showed William McLean as of Coylton - so

Mary Steel McLean, other name Gray died 1962, Ayr. Aged 68

Summary

Johanne/Johanna/Joan Steel Gray married Pater Steadman Middlemas, Linlithgow, 1931. Died  Linlithgow 1960

Mary Steel Gray married  William McLean 1916, Linlithgow. Died 1962, Ayr. Aged 68

Jeanie Pedan Gray married John Conlon, Edinburgh, 1935. Died Edinburgh 1978.

It would appear that they all married and died in Scotland  :)
