Looking for any trace of Sarah Davidson b 1843 Kilbride Buteshire, according to the 1861 Census.
Father was James Davidson b 1800 and was Coastguard in Hastings Sussex in 1841
Mother Charlotte Cooper b 1810
The ref to Sarah Davidson Age 18 appears on the 1861 Census for Glasgow -644/07 057/00 016.
Please let me have any suggestions as well as any comments.

Hi Olduser

All guesstimates from me.

A Sarah Davidson married a John Graham on 23 December 1870 in Blythswood, Glasgow. First born daughter was Charlotte b. 5 Dec. 1871 in Blythswood, then a William b. 18 April 1874 Hutchesontown, Glasgow.

I thought this might be them in 1871 after their marriage:

John Graham 29, Pattern Maker b. Glasgow
Sarah Graham 27 b. Lambek (?spl), Buteshire

Address: 329 Springburn Rd, Lanarkshire

1881 in Hutchesontown, Glasgow and a few more children:

John Graham 39
Sarah D Graham 38 b. Lamlash (?spl), Buteshire
Charlotte Graham 9
James D Graham 2
John D Graham 2 months
Margaret Little 17

Monica  :)

Monica, thanks for your potential lead, my issue in tracing Sarah is she only appears in  our  Davidson Family History the once and that's on the 1861 Census, so the entry may be approx for most aspects.
The connection with Blthyswood looks strong as the Davidson stay in Glasgow 1860-1880 included an address below

104 West Graham Street St George Glasgow - Reg District Blythswood, 1871 Census..

James Davidson b 1800 was a seafarer then Coast Guard in 1841 at Hastings , Sussex he move his family to Kilbride 1843, then to Ireland 1847-52 then back to Scotland on  the 1861 Census

Do you know if Bute had a Coast Guard Station in the 1840-50's ?

Not a subject I know much about, sorry. Hopefully someone can comment with more detail.

Just a general observation. Can't see entries for 1851, but a number of coastguard references come up in Kilbride, Bute on the 1861 census (men and their families).

Monica, Just had confirmation off Scotlands People for the 1870 Marriage, the entry even has brides Father James Davidson, Coast Guard, deceased plus mother Charlotte Cooper both of which are our family.

Many thanks for your expertise & swift response this helped close down one of the missing entries.

We are planning a large gathering to talk  through  our Family History on Burns Night.

Thanks Again
