Hi Robert

Bit too warm at the moment in Australia and I would dearly love to see some rain - as would my garden.
I have not explored the Fishers because my connection is tenuous. Sarah Jane Hockey (Sidney Hockey Fisher's Mum)is the daughter of my gt gt grandfather's brother Charles Hockey. (I go off on such tangents because I become so interested in what happened to all the various branches). I have cancelled my Ancestry subscription for a while because it is too expensive so I cannot see your Fisher tree.

Do you by any chance know why Charles Hockey and his brother George went to live in Jersey?

Cheers
Trish

Hi Trish,

You do seem to have the extremes of weather, we have had seen a lot of coverage on the tv about fires and then floods. Last year for us on the south coast was just rain or dismal overcast cloudy weather, however, over the last few days it has been lovely and sunny.

Like you I do seem to drift sideways on the family tree but I try and keep to first cousins wherever possible.  My mother's mum was Rita Fisher.

Don't know why the families went to Jersey, but having been there on holiday I can see why it would have been an attractive place to set up home (excluding WWII). I will try and do a bit more research.

Kind regards, Robert

Colby

Hello Robert,

I am very interested in chatting to you about the Fisher/Palmer family. I have some information that might be of value to you. I know that this is an old post, but if you happen to see this and could get in contact that would be fantastic!

Keeping my fingers crossed,

Cara

Welcome to Rootschat, Cara

Looking at Robert's profile, which you can see if you click the figure under his name, it doesn't look as if he has been on Rootschat since Tuesday 05 March 2013. If he still has the same email and has signed up for it, he should get notification that he has a reply to one of his posts.
