The Tebbuts are not in my line but  the Cliffords are. I have John Tebbutt (b 1741 Kegworth) m Elizabeth Clifford 1764 in Kegworth.

Maybe not the same family but I also have an Elizabeth Tebbott m Matthew Berridge of Kingston on Soar 6th Oct 1713 in Nottingham St Mary.

Diddy, Yes I have seen the will, thank you.  Since he died in 1843, I wonder why it wasn't probated until 1869.  Both his father and his wife (Mary) were executors but had both died before 1869. 

Another question.  When Edward Tebbutt built his home in Goderich, Ontario, he named it "Omerod/Ormerod Estate".  (I have seen it spelled both ways.)
Nobody has ever been able to figure out the significance of this and I wonder if in England the word "Omerod" or "Ormerod" means something.  Any ideas?

I have a transcript of Kegworth PRs that gives this marriage - 17 Nov 1764, John Tebbutt to Mary Clifford, in the presence of John Clifford.

It also shows the same baptisms of siblings of Edward snr., children of John & Elizabeth as Diddy gives above, plus - Mary - 07 Jul 1775.

 thats great then. i can check Johns bap next time in library if needed. i suspect the Eliz tebbutt marriage Rog found is related - Kingston is a tiny hamlet next door to kegworth & i guess all the tebbutts there about are related. however as Kingston is ovber the river (Soar) it is Notts and i haven't access to PRs.

Marriage: John Tebbutt of kegworth = Elizabeth Clifford of kegworth 17 February 1764 kegworth
both signed wit: William hardy, John Clifford

i did look for the Baptism of John Tebbutt in kegworth - several submitted ones online s/o Robert & Ann but only found:

Baptism: John Tebbutt 25/5/1731 s/ John & Mary  don't know if yours?

also: Ralph tebbutt 9/3/1738 s/o Robert & Jane Tebbutt (as Ralph is a family name prob related.
