hi sancti
i don't know what became of any of the family after 1851 census.
i do know that agnes had a very short marriage to william laurie but never used his name, on 1841 & 1851 she still used the name smith.

i have just found the death certificate for alexander smith on SP.
details on certificate read -
terreroch farm  armadale
on 7.6.1871 aged 80 years
parents  james smith & catherine lindsay
married to agnes muir.
i was wondering if some kind person could help find agnes his wife on the 1871 census as she may  have been staying with one of her children .
thanks
margaret

hello Margaret,

I've replied to your post re headstone lookups and attached a report on the Smith family which should give you all the information I have and probably a bit more, at least I hope so!!

Agnes died in 1852, and Alexander married Marion Hamilton 1854, she died in 1869.   Anyway, information of Alexander's children, Grandchildren, Gt Grandchildren etc on the report that I've sent you.

cheers .....  Meg
