I looked on ancestry.co.uk for george waller matin and the marriage to jessie but i couldn't find it?
This was all i could find

Yesterday i was quite chuffed when i found the Mother of John Pendle born 1835, Phoebe Pendle, She wasn't married and somehow John came along, she did however marry William Newton from Halstead and i guess thats the halstead connection. However using ancestry.co.uk i can't seem to go back any further than 1835 to find out more about Phoebe.

Anyone have any ideas or know where to look??

Phebe was baptised 20 May 1815 in Dennington Suffolk to James and Elizabeth (nee Folkard)

James Pendle married Elizabeth Folkard at Dennington on 5 February 1802

It may well be do we have a date of birth because by my records she would of been 4 years old?? Plus the name is spelt Phebe, whereas mine is Phoebe ?? Might be a typo??

Have a look at ancestry 1861 census Pendle families living in Dennington

1) James Pendle born 1806 married to Elizabeth

2) Charles Pendle age ? (actually he is crossed out, not sure what that means) married to Harriet with a son James aged 23

On familysearch there is a baptism of James in 1 apr 1838 to Charles Pendle and Harriet Woolnough (might be no.2 above) but I can't find that marriage on familysearch.

There is also a baptism of James 10 Feb 1839 to James Pendle and Elizabeth Chapman - they married 12 Oct 1826 so might be no.1 above.

I hope I am not leading you astray... it doesn't sound straightforward

Thanks so much I think the problem with the pendles is that they keep using the same names over different generations and thats where it gets confusing Phoebe Pendle was born on 1811, so i don't think that the james and elizabeth could fit in the same generation, Seems relateded but because of the ages i don't think James could of been Phoebe's father, he would of only been 5 years old, It may well be her Brother, That would make more sense, So all i need to find out is who is the father of james

Hi again, can I just ask where you got the birth of Phoebe from of 1811, a census return?
 A baptism could be years after the actual birth, also Scrabbles James and Elizabeth for Phebe 1815
,are not the same as the 1861 couple?

There is a Phoebe b 1835 who is the daughter of the James and Elizabeth mentioned by Scrabble re 1861, shown as Pendell in 1841 census ref HO107/1025/9/13

Her Son John was born in 1835, so i know its not that Phoebe, in fact its spelt phebe, and i know its not a typo as it appears he same in quite a few records, i'll look back at my records and post where i got the 1811 date
