john witter married jane hart in 1718...i know little about her other than i think she lived in church minshull...any thing about her gratefully received

may I ask why you think she was from Church Minshull and not Chester ?

Hi borderman,

From what I can see the marriage took place on 10th December 1718 at Church Minshull by licence issued 18th November 1718 at Chester - this is probably where the confusion comes from. (see www.familysearch.org)

Findmypast have published the films of some parish records - you may find more information there.

ThanksJDGEN. that makes thing clearer..i see ANTROBUS AND HIGGINBOTTOM on your list ..there were 2 boys at my school named antrobus and higginbottom...i remember the higginbottoms had a pub in devons road bow...antrobus lived in upminster...

I think this might well be Jane's baptism:

Jane daughter of William HART baptised 2 October 1683 - unfortunately it doesn't show where she was baptised.

Do you know who the children of John & Jane Witter were, and where in Cheshire they went?

I'm missing a John Witter at about this time....

JDGEN...john witter born 1719 married mary richardson born 1718  married 1743?  i am direct descendant...also Freeman of Chester....
