Germany Marriage certificate
« on: Sunday 26 February 12 16:53 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to help a friend find details of her mother's first marriage.  I have no experience of German records and wondered how we could go about it.

The couple were Kurt Eitel F.M.Droz and Kate Kunst [born 1906].  They married in Wiesbaden on 3 March 1925.  The register number is 109.

Any help /advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you both for your replies.
Miri - i will meet up with my friend later this week and see if she has any more details that might be of interest to you.  What is your interest / connection to Kurt ?
And thank you DaveCapps for all that information. That will certainly add to the information my friend is looking for. Amd possibly helpful to Miri.  Not sure if my friend knew about the first marriage.
Will be in touch in a day or two again

Hello Momo,
thank you for your quick response, thank you DaveCapps for your information too. I am very excited!
It might be, that Kurt Maria Eitel Droz got another daughter in Germany when he was around the age of 60. He was not married to the mother. The name Kurt Maria Eitel Droz is documented in the birth ceritficate. We thought the roots are from Switzerland, but how DaveCapps found out, this Mr. Droz was born in Cologne. Maybe he is not the one we are looking for though the combination of the first given names and the surname is very uncommon. I think there is also the name Friedrich in too (the document is not with me right now).
I´m excited to hear about your friends information,
Miri

If you want the birth certifcate from Kurt Droz contact:

Historisches Archiv
Heumarkt 14
50667 Köln

or mail: historischesarchiv@stadt-koeln.de

Stating his Name and the birth registry number 1343 noted on his marriage certificate
Also state the reason you are applying. Genealogy / family research

Ask for an "unbeglaubigte Kopie" - uncertified copy. it´s cheaper ;D

Costs about €12
