Fenner Family in Sussex
« on: Wednesday 29 February 12 13:05 GMT (UK) »
My wife has Sussex Fenner's in her tree and I have hit a brick wall with their line, probably because of missing information in the Mayfield records. I have looked in all the usual places but if anyone has film/ microfilm? cdRom's/ transcripts of the Sussex area of any relevant parish records could you please have a look for the Fenner's in red below. Anyway I will give the line so far ( in black is confirmed, in red is speculation)

Andrew Fenner =  Elizabeth Creasie  married 1692 Withyham
Thomas Fenner (b1715?Mayfield?) = Sarah Luxford (b1719 Brede) married 1738 Withyham

Thomas Fenner   (b1738/9) =  Hester Eastwood (b1743)
John Fenner (b1765) = Ann Bones (b1768)
Sophia Fenner (b1804) = Thomas Baldwin (b1801)
Sophia Baldwin (1829) = Henry Leaney (b1828)  Sussex
Ruth Leaney( 1861) = (Arthur) Frederick Newman (1860) Surrey
Elizabeth Sophia Newman (b1885) = James Wm. Freeman (b1876 Tottenham)

thanks reni  ;D

Thank you for looking. When you say 3 Fenner children, Dad,  John   -   do you mean  Dad as Thomas Fenner (b1738) and John  (b1765) his son ?  Who was the third Fenner child ? Thanks again reni  :)

Hello, I have found on a website Andrew Fenner, b. 1730 Burwash, d. Aug 1817 Mayfield.
son Henry Fenner b. Nov 1755, Mayfield d. 28 Nov 1800
son Jesse Fenner, b. 15 Apr. 1816, d. date unknown. (that means that he was born 16 years after father died). ???
son Jess Fenner b. 29 July 1820 Burwash Sussex. d 15 Apr 1896 Seal Kent. (that means he was born 4 years after the birth of his father) ???
These two dates do not add up.  Would love some help trying to solve this.
Thank you Coffeegirl

Hi
Can you tell us what you know for certain and have proof for?     It is easier to work backwards from known facts.   Census records will help.
There are various marriages for those names in Mayfield.
Jesse Fenner married Mary Ann Moon 25 Oct 1829 for instance.     Is this your family?
