John ROBERTS marriage Uppingham?

Hello Rootschatters

Please can you help me find the marriage of John Roberts b. 1798 Uppingham to a Sarah ? b. 1799 Harringworth.
They would have been in the Uppingham area abt 1825 as their son Isaac was born there in 1825. Their Daughter Caroline who was also listed as born 1825 states Stamford as her birth place    I am not familiar with the geography of Rutland so this is adding to my puzzle!
Also any baptism info of John and his parents names would be really useful. John was my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather.

1851 Census John is born c 1798, Uppingham, Rutland and Sarah c 1799, Harringworth, Northamptonshire.
Sons William 1834 and Abraham 1838 are born Peterborough, Northamptonshire.
Looks like they got around!

So looks like younger Children were born/christened Lincs. John/Sarah  have moved to Northamptonshire by 1841 and then Rutland before 1851 Census.

All match with 1841 Census and 1851 for William/Abraham.
John 1834 may have left home by 1851 or has died also.

As first Children are born Stamford, Lincolnshire, this is a possible Marriage;

Now someone has Submitted this Marriage on the IGI also, and has date as 21 March 1820.
FreeREG confirms the date and has Witnesses names and both were Bachelor/Spinster.

If you wanted to confirm this Abrahams Birth Cert will have his Mothers Maiden Name;

How lucky are you as it is one of the 1st Civil Births Registered.

Submitted info on the IGI has SARAH Billington Christened 28 September 1800, Harringworth, Northampton, England, Mother ANNE Billington.
So if correct looks like she was Illegitimate.
I cant confirm this Christening.

Hi Trish

Thank You So Much for all you have found. 
It seems that John and Sarah had 3 Johns 1823, 1827 and 1834 and 2 Williams 1824 and 1833!

I am directly descended from Abraham James Roberts 1837.

That branch of the family ended up in London and we progressed to the South coast!
Thank you for finding Eliza 1820 I did not have her in my tree as she was married before 1841. This enabled me to find Sarah Roberts in 1861 Census staying with her married daughter and son in law. Benjamin and Eliza Wilkins in Paddington.
All the new names have been added to my tree and I will now endevour to find the deaths of these new people.

Have to leave the computer now but will keep you informed of anything else I find.
