Hello All,
My next door neighbour has asked me if I could start off her family tree which has led me back to the Codd's of Marloes in Milford Haven.

I am curious to see that Margaret b.1836 d/o William Codd and Martha  Wilcox (or Sarah Wilcox) is recorded in the 1911 census as married 47 years to a Barmby. She is also down as a Barmby in the 1881 census but I cannot find any marriage for her. I've also been unable to locate her in the 1861,1871 or 1891 census.
If anyone can shed some light on her whereabouts I would be grateful.
Thanks

Malcom:

I believe that I have found William James and Anne Codd in the 1861 census under Skeyfrog, St. David Pembrokeshire Wales.  The reference is Rg09 piece 4168 folio 76 page 10.  also RG906165-416702-417301-00283A.jpeg.

I'm not sure about the last reference number but that is what shows up when I go to save it on my computer.

Dear All,
Not sure if the following fits in with any of the previous, but from my research into and the production of a booklet on headstones of St Michael Pembroke I note ;
LEATICE
THE BELOVED WIFE
OF JOHN CODD
WHO DIED FEB 4 1867
AGED 53 YEARS

Authors notes ; Leatice Codd was buried at St Michaels on the 08 Feb 1867, by D.W. Morris.  On the 07 Oct 1854 John Codd of full age a widower and labourer of the Eastend the son of Thomas Codd  a labourer had mrd Letitia Thomas of full age a widow of Rose Valley, the dau of William John a labourer by banns in front of W.M.D. Berrington. Both signed their names in the presence of William Edwards and George Froyne.  Research would suggest her husband John was baptized at Reynoldston on the 16 Feb 1800 and was buried on the 20 Jan 1876 aged 76 years by Henry S. Blink, if buried in St Michaels his headstones does not appear to survive. It would appear that Letitia had been baptized at Monkton St Nicholas on the 08 Mar 1812 to William & Catherine John.

Still here Mal.  Have noticed that there is a Codd on the War Memorial at Dale,Pembs. Born at St Ishmaels(Pembs),he was the son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Codd. Private John Codd 46477,Welsh Reg was killed in action at Messines in 1917 aged 27 years. No known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres memorial. He left a wife and 2or 3 children.     hoping you're well.

Great to hear the Codds being involved in defending the country. I've been watching the TV series on Pembroke - hoping Marloes will feature in one of the programmes
