Marriage;
Moses BATES, December 1871, W Bromwich,6b 1109
On the same page are;
Ann Maria JORDAN and Ann Maria WHITEHOUSE
(Could either Ann Maria be known as LEAH?)

1871 Census Moses is under Adolphus Bates born c 1850, Longney, Glous and is Unmarried. (image could be age 27)

If have to get off the Computer for a while now and will see if I can prove my theory.

1891 Census Leah FARR is born c 1855, Girtford, Bedfordshire.
RG12/1245/6/5
This fits the 1861 Census when Leah, Daug of John/Betsey is born c 1855, Girtford, Beds.
RG9/994/33/5

1881 Census Leah FARR is mistranscribed as Selina Farr c 1854, Girtford, Beds.

  Yep she's def not the Beds one. Can sse Moses and Leah in 1901 in USA but no new details to be had from there.
 We need a starting point somewhere. I keep looking at the names trying to work it out I think one of the childrens certs would be the way forward as well.

I thought the W Bromwich Marriage was just a possibility.
The George GREENHOUSE who was the other Male that Married 1871 is with Wife Maria in 1881. She is born c 1851, Wednesbury.

This one seems to be Maria Whitehouse in 1861, a 10yr old Servant born c 1851, Wednesbury or Marria c 1851 with Parents Richard/Sarah in Wednesbury.

1881 Moses/Leah are in Staffs so it is still possible she was nee Jordan. Trouble is I cant find her 1871.

Maybe not.
Just searched for any Moses Bates in 1881 Census and there is one born c 1852, Wednesbury, Staffs with a Wife Maria born c 1852, Cheltenham, Glous. They are living in Lancashire in 1881 with 2 Children born Widnes, Lancs.

IGI has the Marriage also.

1871 Census has a Leah BRAM born c 1851, Littledean, Glous
1861 she is under Leah Brain c 1852, Little Dean.

I wonder how Trees got the name Blane/Blaine for Leah as there doesnt seem to be a Marriage to be found.
