ARE THE 1841-1851 CENSUS AVAILABLE???
« on: Monday 16 May 05 01:44 BST (UK) »
Hi All,  :)

I am use to using the London and Sussex Chat boards and there are plenty of people with access to census and willing to do look ups.

The Perthshire Board is certainly not very active, are the 1841 and 1851 census available for Perthshire and if so, where would I access them given I am in Canada???

Any thoughts or ideas are most certainly welcomed!
Thanks

Hi LUV
The '41 and '51 censuses are only available for lookup on fiche at the mo, however, ScotlandsPeople intend to have them online in the summer.  Keep in mind they sometimes underestimate how long it takes to do this so it may take longer.  We are all trying to wait patiently for these...!!!!  This is the site.  They already have 1871 to 1901 censuses online and BD&Ms for statutory records and some OPRs.

Also, if you tell us what you are looking for, there may be someone who can do a lookup for you locally.

Good luck
