Hi

Am I correct in seeing there were 2 children to this marriage (not naming names though), both with the mms indexed as "TAPP"?

A possible?

Wife: Elizth TAPP 35, b Hadlow Kent
Uncle: John CLARK 70, Wid, Ag Lab, b Hadlow Kent

MARRIAGE: Dec Qtr 1878, Tunbridge
The following two are on the same page
Elizabeth CLARK
William Henry TAPP

BIRTH REG:mar Qtr 1852 Tunbridge
Henry William TAPP

Taking Henry TAPP/BURGESS back (I'm pretty sure this the correct trail!):

1871: Cage Lodge House, Tonbrige, Kent
RG10 / Piece: 931 / Folio: 66 / Page: 47
Head: James BURGESS 39, Gardener, b Etchingham Sussex
Wife: Emma BURGESS 42, b Capel, Kent
Son: Henry BURGESS 19, unm, Farm labourer,  b Castle Hill Tonbridge
Dau: Hannah BURGESS 13, b Etchingham Sussex
Dau: Caroline BURGESS 9, b Rotherhithe, Surrey
Dau: Sarah BURGESS 6, b Hurst Green, Sussex
Dau: Emma BURGESS 2, b Hawkhurst Kent

1861: Levissden?, Etchingham, Sussex
RG 9 / Piece: 571 / Folio: 85 / Page 2
Head: Richard HICKS 36, b Salehurst, Sussex
Wife Eliza HICKS 34, b Caple Kent
Dau: Rebecca HICKS 11, Scholar, b Etchingham, Sussex
Dau: Lydia HICKS 9, Scholar, b Hawkhurst, Kent
Sister: Emma BURGESS 32, mar, b Caple, Kent
Nephew: Henry T BURGESS 9, Scholar, b Tonbridge (T for "TAPP"??)
Neice: Hannah BURGESS 4, b Etchingham, Sussex

MARRIAGE:  Sep Qtr 1856, Ticehurst,
The following two are on the same page
Emma TAPP
James BURGESS

Now, Emma is described as a sister to Richard HICKS in 1861 - but  more likely she is actually Richard's wife's   sister, as they have the same pob (Capel).

MARRIAGE: Sep Qtr 1849, Ticehurst
The following two are on the same page
Richard HICKS
Eliza TOWNER

and:
MARRIAGE Ticehurst, Sep Qtr 1851
The following two are on the same page
John TAPP
Emma TOWNER

I have recently started looking into my family tree again and I have hit a brick wall with the Tapp- Burgess line. I cannot find any information on John Tapp married to Emma Towner in 1851. I assume that he died or Emma divorced him as she married again in 1856 to James Burgess. I cannot find a mother for Emma Towner born 1829 Capel, Kent, and her sister Eliza Towner born 1826 Capel Kent either. Their father is down as William Towner. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Debbie
