Mullaghbrack, Rippard family
« on: Tuesday 13 March 12 00:18 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if any one can help me, my ancestor Robert Rippard was born in Mullaghbrack, in 1808. He joined the 89th regiment of foot at the age of 18.
I am looking for anybody who has any knowledge of Rippards in that area around that time. I notice a few Rippards name Ireland as their birthplace, but are not specific so i can not consider them as relatives. This branch of my family is the closest to my heart, really is a brick wall so would really appreciate the help, Thanks x

Hi,  I have just made replies to http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.ant.general/3591.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx covering variations of the name in ireland which might interest you. Your Robert was a chelsea pensioner, one of at least 3 other pensioners of that surname from the north of ireland. I think the source was findmypast army records. Hope it is of interest to you.
