William (Billy) Millar born on 4th May 1931 at Whitehouse, Co. Antrim. He was one of nine children.
His father was a Canadian who worked at Flemings. Tomb Street, Belfast.

In William's obituary 2nd June 1977 (Eddie McIlwaine, Belfast Telegraph) the names of his brothers
Alex, Harry and Jackie are mentioned. They were employed at Andrews Flour Mill in Belfast

Martha, their mother, was living in a bungalow which William had bought her, in Bangor, Co. Down

Hiya Steve,

How are you keeping?

I was speaking on the phone just now to a woman friend. She has just joined Rootschat. She intends researching her family tree but has not yet started. We were discussing her family. One of the names she mentioned was Stephen Boyd. I think the link may be through his mother Martha rather than James, his father.

I will keep you posted on this one.

All the Best,

Chris

Hiya Steve,

There was an article in the July edition of The Ulster Scot about Stephen Boyd (born William Millar on 4th Joly 1931). He was one of nine children and he went to Ballyclare High School. He worked in an insurance office and a travel agency in Belfast. There were no openings for him to be a professional actor in the north of Ireland so he moved to London.

All the Best, Chris
