Her parents were William FRAMPTON & Lucia ?

Has anyone information about them?

Found a likely marriage on the Dorset OPC site(Wyke Regis marriages 1837-1847) :

7 Aug 1839, William Frampton, full age, bachelor of Wyke, Mariner. Father: Richard Frampton, fisherman  &
                     Lucia Nudge, full age, spinster of St. Thomas Street, Weymouth.  Father: Richard Commins Nudge,
                     accountant.   

Witnesses:  Richard Commins Nudge, Betsy Joliffe.          By Licence

Did William FRAMPTON died shortly after the marriage?

Daughter Mary Ann married Charles Fellowes Jeffery in 1861.
I have not found any entries for her or other children between the 1841 & 1861 censuses.

Have you checked FreeBMD or the Dorset OPC site for a death/burial for William Frampton? 


1851 census has Lucia (widowed) with daughters MA (Mary Ann?) and Fanny (b 1847), living at 3 Camden Place, Wyke Regis.

But - a burial in Winbourne & C  Jun q 1847 8 114 on FreeBMD.

Further searches reveal that Lucia Frampton married again:

William Burbridge & Lucia Frampton 4q 1862 Weymouth 5a 699

Lucia Burbridge died 2q 1870 Weymouth 5a 236 aged 54.

William Burbridge died 2q 884 Weymouth 5a 219 aged 83.

Strictly speaking that's a death registration and I wonder if that is him as Wimborne is about 30 miles from the Weymouth area.  If William remained a mariner after the marriage perhaps he was lost at sea or is buried in another Dorset coastal parish?

Hi,

Some of the coastal Parish Registers will often show a burial of an "unknown......found drowned".   William could be one of those.
