John Rafferty

Hi,

John Rafferty was born c.1781 in the Longford area and went on to marry Lydia before moving to Manchester with his wife and young children. I am struggling to find any details on him, Lydia or his children. Can anyone advise me where to start please.

In most cases you would require a more detailed location - i.e. which town, townland or parish, your Rafferty family came from to start a search....also the denomination of this family. Very few rural parishes have records back to the 1780s - so having a location is vital..

I have Longford for Catherine and Rose, but no information at all for Lydia (other than she was married to John). Thank you for the 2 websites I shall look at these and see if they throw any light.
