Hi Sandie,
I've checked the SA 1939 and 1941 Electoral Roll for Peterborough and George is not registered.
However, 1943 he is mentioned as a labourer at Mt Victor Station in the Wakefield Dist.

If you Google Mt Victor it says the nearest town is Hawker, 120k away.   Peterborough is 125K away from Mt Victor.

Hope that helps a little,
Sashar

South Australian Electoral Rolls are not online and NSW is only from 1930 -1980.

I have another resource and George Henry KEEBLE is not on the electoral roll in Victoria in 1903 or on the South Australian Roll in 1909 or 1939.

Perhaps this is him in NSW in 1936 & 1937.

Australian Electoral Roll
1936
KEEBLE George Henry  Middle Camp, Menindee  Labourer
1937
KEEBLE George Henry  234 William Street, Broken Hill  Labourer

Legal Notice re his late father who died in WA

In March 1915 a Mrs KEEBLE from Perth placed an advertisment in the Broken Hill newspaper seeking the whereabouts of a George KEEBLE.

I have [somewhere] a 1913 NSW electoral roll.  Will have a look for it later.

thank you everyone for all your help!!

I do have the birth of "His" children, or those who have been given his
surname in his absence.   His whearabouts after 1907 were unknown to his family,
and I have been trying to find out what I can
I just love a good mystery!

Cando's list did not include these two deaths so I will put them up in case you do not have them

Victorian Deaths
 KEEBLE Harold Keniverru
Father George
Mother Rachel Vida  WESTHEAD
Death Place MILD
Age 55
Year 1965
Reg Number 13965

KEEBLE Lachlan James Ke
Father George
Mother Rachel Vida  WESTHEAD
Death Place MILD
Age 44
Age Code
Year 1969
Reg Number 25462

The deducted birthdates if correct are surprising as the father was unk. for  Harold's birth.

Thanks Sue, I do have those deaths, Harold is my husbands grandfather.
All of Georges "children" were thought of as being his children, but we know
that they aren't.  I really want to get a timeline going of where he was and
learn more about his life.
The clue in Harolds birth certificate I feel is the name Campbell, I believe that
lists the last name of the real father.  I cant imagine it would be Keniverous LOL

Hi,

A possibility.

NSW Police Gazette 16th November 1898, page 389.

A George Keeble was tried at the Wilcannia Police Court on 25th Oct 1898 for stealing from a person and sentenced to 3 months hard labour.  Bound over in the sum of L40 and one surety in L40 to be of good behaviour for 12 months and report to the Wilcannie Police every 3 months.

L = Pound.

Regards
Gerry
