By joining Disnorge (Costs approx. NOK 400) you will get username & password to log on.

And, you must contribute by uploading your own GEDCOM to be able to see other members family trees.....

I might be able to provide a rough translation of what's in there, but it will have to be "lucky next week"...

Hi Janrm,
Thanks for that information.
Unfortunately joining is not financially viable just now. As soon as I can join, I'll be back to let you know what I find.
Thank you  once again, for all your invaluable help. ;D

.."it ain't over yet"!

A Quick Google of "Solberg i Botne" returns a reference to this Genealogy-book:

http://wwww.slekt1.com/nb/slektslitteratur?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=4785&sobi2Id=8839

Loosely translated "A Botne  family history" by Arne Einarsen, 1968.

Could be some interesting info in there for you...

Wow!,
Thanks again!
I have taken a look at this and there seems to be an amazing amount of information - very little of which I can actually decipher  ::). I tried the translater on my computer & it sort of filled in the words like 'and', 'the' and a few other words in English, but the information and descriptions of which book I should be looking at eludes me. I tried putting the word 'Solberg' in the search box but I think it must have been translating each page as it searched - it took ages and then came back to my in Norwegian instead of English  >:( So, I'm tearing my hair out trying to translate just to see if there is anything I can find out about the family.)
I keep telling myself to be patient but when you have been looking for eons and finally start getting answers, any obstacle is frustrating. :'(
Anyway - I'll keep trying.
Thanks again - you are a wonder!
Milly.

You have done it again! ;D
There is even another sibling - Edvard - I haven't heard of him before. :)
The second Soren Christian also ? Were they in the habit of naming another child after a sibling who had died?
I am still trying to get my computer to translate the summary of the book on the families in Solberg but not having much success.  Any suggestions?

I recently read in the transcript of the Divorce in Australia that Anton had a cousin who was a Captain of a sailing vessel bound for Norway - don't know if that has any bearing on anything but I'm just gathering every little piece of information that I can find at the moment just in case it fits in somewhere. ::)

Thank you once again  :D

Hi there, Augusta Frederica SOLBERG d 28/12/1920 at Paihiatua, NZ was my great, great grandmother. She married Johan Olaf Gaarder d 18/1/1922 in October 1874 at Napier, NZ. Would Augusta be a relative of Anton Ludwig Solberg? Thank you :)
