Hi John

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

George, who started this topic, was online a couple of days ago, Nigel was online here a couple of months back, but all the contributors should receive an email notification that you have posted and hopefully come back soon.

Hi Nigelo

A little late to the party but I was alerted to this thread by a friend and thought I'd jump in.

My name is John Campbell Purdie. My great grandfather, Edward John Purdie was Edwin's nephew. Although I don't have a daily role in E J Purdie & Son Ltd I am still very much involved. I worked out of our Lancaster Road EN4 8 AP site for almost 20 years.

Hello John. Nice to hear from you. I was actually in touch with your father, Jack, about 8 years ago.

You are welcome to look at my family site (www.our-families.info). you can contact me from there too.

Hi Nigelo and George

I'm at a conference all next week so I will get back to you and start filling in some gaps from my end w/c 21st March.

My father, Jack Purdie died August 2010.

I should clarify that E J Purdie & Son Ltd is still a family business owned by myself. Although I don't have a daily role I am actively involved in long term strategy. I'll explain more later.

Looking forward to making your acquaintances.

Best

John Purdie

Hi George

I checked your profile and your notifications are set to 'Instantly but only for the first reply"

You can change that to 'instantly' so you get a notification for every reply to topics you have contributed to.

If you get inundated there are other options
