David Johnston Cameron
« on: Sunday 15 April 12 10:06 BST (UK) »
DJC was born in Scotland in 1874. He became a dentist, and in 1901 was working in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He married Mary Beatrice Simpson later that year, and they had a son James, born in Belfast in 1902.

In 1911 Mary and James were with her mother in Edinburgh, but not David. He was not in Ireland either.

The next piece of information is that David died in Robertson, Cape Province, South Africa on 31 March 1918.

Can anyone point me at a source (such as a newspaper article) which might confirm this and say how he came to die at a relatively young age?

Hi.
National Archives South Africa shows two enteries for DJC.
One his death in 1918 and one his estate.
His death notice can be ordered on line which will give the details.
Cheers Will
