Looking for Arthur Manuell b 1867 Chartham, Kent, I came across a passengers list in 1913 where the name is written as Manwell. (Other variations Manuel, Manvel, Mannell etc I found before).
Travelling to a brother, occupation in England was fitter,  intended occ in Canada I can't read. Destination Ontario (Hamilton? Manchester?

I understand there is a 1916 Census for Canada.
Can anyone please have a look for this man there?

Arthur Manvell 63 Born 1867 England. Immigrated 1922. Married at 21 years.  Roomer. Stock Clerk. Airplane Co.
Hugh Gallenmore 21 Roomer. Born Texas.
Philip Mindel 21 Roomer. Born Washington DC

Also Arthur Manvell - Park Street. Vienna, Fairfax, Virginia 1930

Arthur Manvell 63 Born England. Immigrated 1923. Married at 20 years. Silversmith. Airplane Factory
Jane E Manvell 61 Born England. Immigrated 1924. Married at 19 years.
Stanley Manvell 21 Born England. Immigrated 1924. NA. Musician. Theatre.
Charles E Scott 31 Son-In-Law. Born England. Married at 25 years. Immigrated 1925. AL. Cost Clerk. Tel Co.
Annie Scott 25 Daughter. Born England. Married at 18 years. Immigrated 1925. AL. Auditor. Store.

Also naturalization doc for Arthur (under the name -  Arthur Ferdinand Manville)- 31 st August 1928 - won't transcribe until we know if this is the one you are looking for.

Below this family are more Manvell - William aged 30 years Wife Hilda 28 years. Son and Daughter.

The New York Passenger list referred to in Arthur's details on the 1930 Census.
Arthur Manvell. Born 1867 Tottenham. London. England. Aged 55 years 10 months.
London to New York, arriving 15 Nov 1922 on the President Garfield.
Arthur was married. Silversmith. Wife Mrs A Manvell. 50 Springfield Road. Tottenham.
Going to Washington DC. Also travelling was William Manvell. Musician. Aged 22 years and 5 months. Mother Mrs A Manvell same address as above. Manifest markings above William's name may mean he was naturalized 7th April 1936 - 4 - 12006
William stated he was going to brother C Manvell 111 R St N W. Washington. DC - Arthur going to same address. Arthur had been in Washington for 6 months on an earlier visit.

The passenger list which you referred to lists Arthur Manwell on the Empress of Ireland and aged 46 years. It also says "gone to USA- US Army"  ???

Yes, I was just going to mention my other thread, you beat me to it. Just thought here would be the better place for this specific question: Canada census.

I had seen the US and Army stamps, so confusing. Maybe stamped with the wrong person, maybe the nurse above? He was too old for any Army, wasn't he, and an Englisman too ...
